Shane Black Buddy Banter (feat. Josh Stephenson & Spiel)
Episode 34
We may not always see eye to eye, but dammit, we’re partners. This week, Noah and Chance take on three examples of Shane Black’s buddy cop(-ish) movies, 1987’s Lethal Weapon, 2005’s Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and the new Gosling/Crowe team-up, The Nice Guys. Noah is away from New York this week recording from a Summersville, West Virginia radio station with his lifelong pal Alex “Spiel” Wiederspiel.
But first! Chance starts the show in conversation with director, actor and very busy film and TV crew member Josh Stephenson. Stephenson recently had his Shane Black trope-highlighting supercut featured on The AV Club. (Watch it here.) Watch more videos from Josh on his Vimeo channel.

Movie Reviews & Reappraisals
Be Reel is a movie reviewing & reappraising podcast hosted by Chance Solem-Pfeifer and Noah Ballard.
Each time out, we select three movies based around a genre and call up guests ranging from submarine captains to Oscar winners. Then, we rate the movies, weighing both technical quality and entertainment.
Noah and Chance are old friends who mostly respect each other’s opinions. Even though Chance is a fool and a traitor. Find their show presented at ThePlaylist.Net and follow them on Twitter for the latest on Noah’s literary agenting and Chance’s work in the Portland arts scene.
